Olympus OM-1For Christmas, my Dad very kindly gave me a brand new second hand Olympus OM-1. I've been wanting one for a while, it's the camera that a lot of people learn to shoot properly on, something that I have been wanting to do and now can. Stoopidly (but typically), I ... Kew Gardens InfraredA few Infrareds from our trip to Kew Gardens last week. Another time where having a nice sunny day would have been nice...
Len!
Today, I met one of the world's few remaining legends. Yes, today, I met Len Goodman! For those that, for some inexplicable reason, don't know who he is, I will quote from the blurb on his wonderful bible-for-the-21st-Century, Better Late Than Never:
"In an age of ill-deserved celebrity, Len Goodman is ... InfraredMy old Sony V1 digicam has a nightshot mode. Usually shots come out all green and black like nightvision goggles. I read recently that if you add a infrared filter on the front and shoot in daylight, you can have a dedicated infrared camera. I took a few shots this ... Winter 2008 Mix

In one Japanese lesson, my Japanese teacher was talking about leaves changing, and asked the class whether the leaves went yellow or red on trees in England. Considering ... Canonet
Yesterday, I picked up a brand new secondhand Canonet from Mac's Cameras. While it's not the ubiquitous QL17 (which I still want to pick up), it is a nice little introduction into Rangefinders. I think that when taking the first shots, I probably shouldn't have used a film that was ... Rashômon and Japanese Film in the WestIn an attempt to help reorganize my notes from my Trans-national Japanese Cinema class, I've decided to occasionally write something about the films we've been studying, so here's Rashômon:
In the years before World War Two, Japanese films were exported on a very limited scale, mainly to the countries of the ... Flickr Favourites - September
After hardly being on the internet for a week or two by September, I finally got round to getting a desk and then setting up with computer and three fuctioning HDs. Found quite a few more new photographers on Flickr that I really like recently, and among this month's shots ...
